The most important holidays of the Christian religions nowadays have a secularised and general social character. They are special days not because of their religious content but because of economic considerations and because they comply with the expectations of society.
 
Summary:
 
Leaders of the Jewish religious community complained that the greatest Jewish holidays are not public holidays. The Court found that this circumstance did not itself give rise to an unconstitutionality, because it does not discriminate among the different religions.
 
Under Hungarian labour law, citizens have the right to go on leave at least for five days a year without the consent of the employer. This provision primarily serves the interests of those who profess a religion and operates to provide an effective guarantee of the free exercise of religion.
